Heat Pads, Heat Panels, Heat Cable & Rocks
Heat pads, heat cables, large surface mats, and rock heaters provide steady “belly heat” from below so reptiles can thermoregulate safely. This category covers simple stick-on pads for standard glass tanks, flexible cables for rack systems, and larger mats and rocks for bigger animals or specialty setups. These products build the warm side of your gradient and are meant to work alongside visible light from daytime heat bulbs and compatible light fixtures.
Choosing a Heater
- One glass tank: Pick an under-tank pad sized to the enclosure (mini, 30–40 gallon, 50–60 gallon) and place it under one end for a warm/cool side.
- Multiple cages or racks: Use a heat cable that can run along shelves or around several enclosures from a single plug.
- Large floor setups: Choose a broad poly or carbon-fiber mat when you need a wide, durable warm area instead of a small hot spot; add a thermostat or rheostat for finer control.
